It was from a race t-shirt. Something like the Chicago or Illinois Masters Big Shoulders Open Water Race (that's not it but something like that....)
Anyway, people got very bent out of shape about the image... As if it was supporting or not supporting someone. A big ruckus ensued.... Bla bla bla....
